Hurricane Helene brought devastation to Asheville, but it also revealed the strength of a community determined to rebuild.
When Hurricane Helene reached Western North Carolina, the rain didn’t just fall; it pounded the mountains without pause. Streams overflowed, the French Broad River swallowed Biltmore Village and the River Arts District, and entire neighborhoods were left underwater.
Roads crumbled, bridges collapsed, and Asheville was suddenly cut off. With the power out and cell towers down, the city sat in darkness, connected only by the roar of floodwaters and the crack of trees snapping in the night.
In the valleys, landslides tore through Swannanoa and Fairview, burying homes and taking lives. Buncombe County alone lost more than 40 people — one of the deadliest disasters in its history.
And yet, amid the devastation, stories of resilience emerged. Neighbors pulled each other from second-story windows, volunteers paddled through floodwaters, and strangers shared food and shelter.
When the skies finally cleared, Asheville was forever changed: thousands of trees gone, businesses destroyed, and tourism, the lifeblood of the region, brought to a halt. But slowly, the city began to rebuild. Restaurants reopened, volunteers rebuilt homes, and a shaken but determined community reminded the world that Asheville’s spirit is stronger than any storm.
Ridgeline Construction — Digital Presence Project (In Progress)
Like many builders and remodelers, Ridgeline Construction relied almost entirely on word of mouth. Their craftsmanship spoke volumes, but online they were nearly invisible. Our goal is to change that — creating professional content and a strong digital presence to help them scale and attract the right clients.
This project is currently in progress. Check back soon for case study results, including the content strategy, media assets, and measurable impact on their growth.
